The German, Austrian, Belgian, Luxembourg and Swiss Embassies will host the Festival de Cinema de Língua Alemã “Juntos Enfrentando a Pandemia” (German Language Film Festival “Together Facing the Pandemic”) on June 29 and 30. The event will be held at the Brasília Drive-in and admission is free.
In all, six German-language films (with Portuguese subtitles) will be shown. Among the works are productions like Der Junge muss an die frische Luft (PT: O Menino que Fazia rir. EN: All About Me), Erick und Ericka (Erick & Ericka), Who Am I: Kein System ist sicher (PT: Quem Sou Eu – Nenhum Sistema é Seguro. EN: Who am I – No system is safe), Sputnik, Der Läufer (PT: O Corredor. EN: The Corridor) and Hin und Weg (PT: Deslumbrado. EN: Dazzled).
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the embassies had to cancel the events that were scheduled to take place during the 5th edition of German Language Week, which was to be held in June this year.
This gave rise to the idea of holding the Festival with the exhibition of German-language films at Brasilia’s Cine Drive-in, thus respecting all the safety standards required at this time. Thus, the People of Brasília will have the opportunity to get closer to the German language and learn a little more about the culture of each country.
About the German language:
