Until November 6th, the “Museu Nacional da Republica” will be holding an art exhibition dedicated to the works of Claudio Maya, a famous designer, professor and cartoonist.
Administered by the Department of Culture and Creative Economy of the Distrito Federal, the National Museum of the Republic (MUN) opened space for a retrospective of the work of the artist from the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Claudio Maya (1943-2020), who died of covid-19 at the end of last year . The exhibition “O Lugar das Coisas É Onde Você as Pôs” (The place of things Is where you put them) opened on August 27th and runs until November 7, bringing together 70 works, divided between posters, cartoons, editorial and industrial products.
The exhibition, whose title evokes the human psyche, is curated by André Maya, son of the artist, who is also a designer and professor at the University of Brasília (UnB), and his colleague at the institution, Rogério Câmara.

Administrado pela Secretaria de Cultura e Economia Criativa do Distrito Federal, o Museu Nacional da República (MUN) abriu espaço para uma retrospectiva da obra do designer, cartunista e professor gaúcho Claudio Maya (1943) -2020), que morreu de covid-19 no final do ano passado. A exposição “O Lugar das Coisas É Onde Você as Pôs” estreou no dia 27 de agosto e vai até 7 de novembro, reunindo 70 obras, divididas entre cartazes, desenhos animados, produtos editoriais e industriais.
A mostra, cujo título evoca o psiquismo humano, tem curadoria de André Maya, filho do artista, que também é designer e professor da Universidade de Brasília (UnB), e seu colega de instituição, Rogério Câmara.
