The cheerful event took place at the embassy’s social halls in the early afternoon of a beautiful sunny day. Brazil’s Vice President, Mr. José Alencar, was one of the guests, among many ambassadors, diplomats, officials from the Brazilian Government, businessmen, and distinguished people from Brasília's society. |

Once everyone had arrived, the ambassador of Portugal, Mr. João Salgueiro, made a speech thanking for the presence of the guests and emphasizing the good relations of Portugal and Brazil. After the speech, the Anthems of Brazil and Portugal were played and applauded by all the presents. |
