Nida Chalegre was born in Rio Grande do Sul, she is graduated in architecture and town planning, with educational specialty, by UNISINOS (Universidade do Vale do Rio Sinos/RS).
She dedicated the begging of her professional life to the environmental issue and she was appointed as the Environment Coordinator in the Minas and Power Ministry (Coordenadora de Meio Ambiente do Ministério de Minas e Energia), Environment Coordinator in the Area Mercosul Energy (Coordenadora de Meio Ambiente da Área Energética do Mercosul), Adviser of the Environment National Council-CONAMA and of Hydric Resources National Council (Conselheira do Conselho Nacional do Meio Ambiente – CONAMA e do Conselho Nacional de Recursos Hidricos). She is considered by the Latin America Organization Power - OLADE (Organização Latino Americana de Energia – OLADE) as one among the nine top women in the sustainable development in Latin America, she has several published articles and as a Brazilian government representative she carried out countless lectures about the environment theme in universities, congresses and seminars in Brazil and other countries such as Cuba, Colombia, Argentina, Ecuador, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile.
She moved to Brasilia in 1987, and in the begging of the 90s, in the architectural field she administered and coordinated internal decoration courses in Brazil Architects Institute – IAB/DF. In 1995 she began a basic internal decoration course, and about Antiques and “Antiquariats by correspondence for the whole country, she is active up to nowadays. In 1996, she opened in the federal capital a professional development and formation center in Internal Design – The Progettare – today under the name – Nida Chalegre – Architecture and Interior.
Her special attention to the teaching and formation of new decorators always came along allied to her work as an architect and a decorator.
Her worry about the great public access regarding to decoration, presenting innovative solution like “fast décor” techniques among others, got great repercussion, being pointed out by the media as the revolutionary decorator in several reporting.
She took part in the Casa Cor Brasilia 97 with the project and decoration of the toilet, the Casa Cor Brasilia 2000, with the set up of the living room, Casa Cor Brasilia 2002, wit the set up of the entrance hall and the hat house, in 2003 with the set up of the closet and the bathroom of the bearer of special necessities and in 2004 with the project of the jeweler’s shop where she worked with the social making use of recycled materials.
In 2005 she took part in the creation of the couple’s closet, joining poetry and decoration.
Currently, plus conducting the Nida Chalegre decoration house and her internal and architectural office, she contributed with articles in several magazines of the area and also participated with her projects in exhibitions and prize winning as FOTO DECORAÇÃO; “A dream of bathroom DECA” and thinking up DOCOL”. Between 1997 and 1998, she presented, by invitation of journalist Ana Tereza, editions of the picture “DECORAÇÃO” at TV Globo.
In 2004, she received the SEBRAE Prize for working with craftwork at Casa Cor and the Tribute from “Marcas de Sucessp” (Success Marks) of the television program ‘Brasilia on TV”.
In 2005, she received the recognition from the UNIEURO University Center in Brasilia, as a bearer of a well known wisdom in the Internal Design speciality and at the time she was invited to administer classes at the University Center. In 2007 she was invited by the undergraduates to be the “PARANINFA” (Bridesmaid) of the first group.
In December 2005, as always pledged in the expansion of the Internal Design profession, she worked in the implement of it and became a founder partner of “ABRADI – Associação Brasiliense de Interiores” (Brasiliense Internal Designs Association).
On March 27th 2006 she was honored with the title of “Mulher Destaque 2006” (Prominence Woman 2006) granted by DF Legislative Chamber for the iniciative of Dep. Leonardo Prudente, as the city recognition by her commitment on behalf of the cultural and social development of DF.
The latest project developed by Nida in the education field was the closure of a partnership with ADI College for the implement and coordination of her program for a Post Graduation in Internal Design. It will be the first Post Graduation of this field in the Federal District and the first group that started on October 19th, 2007. |
